We started out on our midwest voyage around 4:30 Wednesday afternoon, departing from Walt Disney World. Our goal was to make it through as much of Georgia as we could stay awake for. Armed with more snacks than the entire Girl Scout troop of Florida, we hit the open road! The trip through Florida was uneventful, except for the odd animal sighting in Northern Florida (which I wish I could share with you but it is one of the trivia questions and I am sworn to secrecy)!<\/p>\n

\"Whataburger<\/p>\n

The highlight of the Florida section of our trip was our stop at Whataburger! This was our first trip to this fantastic restaurant and we enjoyed it immensely! You can see a couple of pictures of us enjoying our delicious Whataburgers in the photo slideshow at the bottom of this post. After we got over the severe case of gut rot, we decided we should continue on our drive north.<\/p>\n

\"Georiga<\/p>\n

I have grown accustomed to my loving wife’s requirement that we stop at these places called “Welcome Centers” in every state we come across. I am told it is because the bathrooms are the best, but I have not yet been able to tell the difference between these bathrooms and all other bathrooms I have come across in all of my travels. In any case, we were mandated to stop at the Georgia Welcome Center. The stop did allow us to get out of the car and stretch our legs, and also allowed me the opportunity to take a couple of pictures, one of which is posted above. After the nice break we got back in the car and headed to our final destination of the day, Macon, GA. <\/p>\n

Although the day one drive was pretty uneventful, check out day two as we make our way through Georgia, eat lunch at Zarzour’s Cafe<\/a>, and explore See Rock City<\/a>!<\/p>\n
