We awoke to yet another beautiful day in Darien, CT, in our hotel.\u00a0 Emily the event planner had a full day of fun activities planned for us all.\u00a0 The first stop of the day was for lunch of course, where Emily, Grandma, Hunter, and I went off to find a restaurant that Emily had researched on one of her food programs.\u00a0 We were on a quest in search of a restaurant called Valencia\u00a0Luncheria\u00a0which was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.\u00a0 When we arrived there, however, both of the two tables were full of people, so we decided to look elsewhere for dining options.\u00a0 We walked down the street and ate at The Lime Restaurant because, well… because they had an open table.\u00a0 The food was average, and that is all I have to say about that.<\/p>\n
ngg_shortcode_0_placeholderAfter completing our lunch and answering the “are we done” question from Hunter 1,200 times, we left the restaurant, got in the car and headed to the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk.\u00a0 We were going to meet Diane and the kids at the aquarium to explore some underwater creatures.\u00a0 Hunter was pretty fired up to see the sharks (as well as every other fish he saw on his travels)!\u00a0 The kids (and adults) had a blast exploring and visiting.\u00a0 It was well worth the visit if you ever find yourself in coastal CT.<\/p>\n
After our fun afternoon at the aquarium we headed back to the hotel to get ready for dinner.\u00a0 Emily’s mom arranged with Diane to get a sitter for all the kids so the grown ups could have a quiet night out.\u00a0 Pop Pop Colonel and Glen didn’t join us because they were able to land some tickets for the David Letterman show that night, which they were both very excited to see.\u00a0\u00a0 After a quick pitstop at Crumbs cupcakes (for later!), \u00a0Emily’s mom, Diane, Emily, and I\u00a0ended up going to this really great restaurant called The Goose in downtown Darien, CT.\u00a0 The food was absolutely delicious and the night out was much needed.\u00a0 Thank you, Grandma Curly!<\/p>\n
After dinner we returned to the Griffin house to visit a bit, enjoy some delicious s’mores, and chase fireflies\u00a0before heading back to the hotel.\u00a0 The time went way too fast as it always does, but it was great to see the Griffin clan.<\/p>\n
