Hunter plays in our closet and loves to look at my jewelry. This morning Patrick was getting dressed and Hunter came in. Patrick said, “Hey Hunter, what are you doing?” Hunter said, “Looking at necklaces. Hmmmm… what necklace should I wear to Target??”

Emily: Did you have a dream during your nap?
Hunter: Yes.
Em: About what?
Hunter: California.
Em: What did you do there?
Hunter: Went to Disneylaaaaaaand… rode Spaceship Earf.
Em: Spaceship Earth isn’t in California, it’s in Florida!
Hunter: Spaceship Earf isn’t in FLORIDA… it’s in EPCOT!

Then he proceeded to roll his eyes at me and say while bent over laughing, “Did Mommy say Spaceship Earf was in FLORIDA??? Mommy is SILLY.”

First I have to say that Hunter has a new way of communicating with me that can best be described as ‘bossy indignation.’  Wonder where he picked this up…

So today I was unloading the dishwasher and Hunter was flitting about hanging on my legs (millions of toys to play with but never more interested in Mommy than when I am trying to do something).  He wandered away for a second and all of a sudden I hear, “HEY MOMMY.  Hey MOMMY!” *insert indignant tone*  I turn around and see him holding a carton of ice cream which was in the trash the last I saw it.  “Mommy!  DON’T THROW THIS!”  Somehow he sniffed out an old ice cream carton and picked it out of the trash!  I had to laugh.  He told me, “There’s ice cream in dere!”  I reassured him we have NEW ice cream, and kindly requested he stop taking things out of the trash!

Me: “When we go on the Disney Cruise Ship Boat, will you go to the movie theatre and watch a movie with Daddy and Me?”

Hunter: “Uh huh!”

Me: “Maybe they will be showing ‘Up!’”

Hunter: *with big sincere eyes*  “Or DOWN!!!”

OK I have to get into this game as well.  Hunter and I were having dinner and as Hunter was slamming his last bite of kineapple (pineapple to the lay person) and as he swallowed his last gulp and said “Ta Da!” in a very excited voice.  I said “Who taught you ta da?” Hunter said without a pause “Alex and Taylor!”  For those of you who don’t know Alex and Taylor are Hunter’s cousins who I believe he only has met 2 or 3 times and hasn’t seen for at least 4 months.  Kids are funny.

Picking up my mom to go to Target, she opened the back door to say hello to Hunter before getting in the front.  I should also say that Hunter chose his shoes today, which would not have been my first choice but I had simply said, “Okay!” when he picked them.

Grandma: “Ooh, I like your shoes!”

Hunter: “These are my MICKEY shoes!  *pause* They work with my outfit.”

For those of you keeping count, this is twice in one week he has commented on his personal fashion.  Love it.

Playing the trash can “drum” in his room, Hunter launches into “ALL THE GOLLLLLLLLLLD IN CALIFORNNNNNNIA, DON’T MATTER AT ALL WHERE YOU’VE BEEN BEFORE, CALIFORNIA IS A BRAND NEW GAME!”  Then he says, “ONE MORE TIME!”  *plays his encore*  Then:  ”I’ll play ONE MORE TIME, then I’ll play a FEW MORE SONGS!”  Rock star.

Patrick: “What did you do today at Grandma and PopPop’s?

Hunter:  “Watched the garbage truck video… the train video…. and the bonus episodes!”

While getting dressed, Hunter told me, “These shorts match my WALL-E shirt perfectly.”  I am not sure how he knew to say “perfectly” and not just “perfect.”  Not to mention he is a fashionista in training…

In line at the drive-thru, two cars behind a very old, diesel truck: *deep sniff* “It smells like… a tram!”
